St. Phillip's Church Sydney On the 18 August 2009 a Civic Thanksgiving service for Archdeacon William Cowper was held at St Phillip’s, York St, Sydney - where Archbishop Peter Jensen told those present that Cowper was a “sensational nation-builder, making sure that the true Christian gospel was written into the title deeds of the new nation”.
